Segundo piso. Soporte de las nueve bóvedas nervadas. La organización espacial es central al tener una planta casi cuadrada, ocho metros de lado, con precedentes en Egipto, arquitectura abbasíe.
Con la conquista de Toledo por Alfonso VI (1085), la mezquita de Bib al-Mardom es convertida en iglesia con el nombre de "Cristo de la Luz" (1097). Los mudéjares toledanos trazan un ábside, que será prototipo para otras iglesias.
