English: Historical drawing of a somewhat crushed Laevaptychus latus (“Aptychus laevis latus”) in external view within the living chamber of a faintly preserved ammonite (Solnhofen platy limestone, Upper Jurassic of the Franconian Jura, Bavaria, Germany).
