| Description |
English: The rear of Metrobus 379 (Y379 HMY), a Dennis Dart SLF/Caetano Nimbus, at the Horsham Hop Oast park and ride site, off Worthing Road Horsham, West Sussex, on route 98. In September 2009 it was announced that Metrobus would be buying the operations of Arriva Guildford & West Surrey's Horsham depot. Metrobus took over on 3 October 2009, and this photograph was taken on the first day of Metrobus operations, Metrobus having taken over route 98. Unfortunately for Metrobus, their first day coincided with apparently some of the worst traffic congestion Horsham had ever seen, and so services fell apart. Route 98 is the most frequent route in the town, Arriva having increased the frequency to every 15 minutes in the months before the sale, but when seen large gaps had developed in the service. The people waiting for the bus into town were less than pleased to see this was the third bus in a row going in the opposite direction and heading for Southwater. |
