| Description |
English: Metricated distance marker at Ynyslas No doubt in connection with the ERTMS system being introduced on the Cambrian Lines, railway distance markers in kilometres have now been introduced. A new marker is seen here on the right, showing the distance from the junction with the Welsh Marches Line at Shrewsbury. The new markers show only full and half kilometres, the half-kilometre being indicated by a 5 under the full distance figure. The old mileposts were spaced at quarter mile intervals, the number of quarters from the full mile being marked beneath the mile value, as seen here on the left. It remains to be seen if mileposts will be removed in due course. |
