Summary
[edit]DescriptionMetheringham Quarry - through a gap in the hedge - geograph.org.uk - 420054.jpg |
English: Metheringham Quarry - through a gap in the hedge The Quarry, Heath Lane, Metheringham. Centurian Dimensional Stone Company, supplies sawn on bed building stone, Quoins, Window Cills, Headers, Mullions, Keystones, Transomes, Corbelling, Cornices, and Columns all in Lincolnshire limestone. The company was established in 2001 to produce and supply natural building stone and masonry using quality Lincolnshire limestone, from their own quarry and others. In November 1999 The Open University Geological Society (London Branch) held a Winter Weekend to Lincoln to look at the Jurassic/Cretaceous Succession, led by Dr. Paul Olver. They visited a number of locations including Metheringham Quarry. Part of the quarry hosted the Majestic Crystal Ladies Trial on 22nd April 2007 when reigning British Champions Becky Cook started the year off in good form, winning her class in the first round of the British Ladies Trials Championship.
