Description
English: Plaster cast of a complete skeleton of Mesosaurus tenuidens from the Whitehill Formation of the Main Karoo Basin, Uitkyk Farm in Hantam Local Municipality (former Calvinia District), Northern Cape, South Africa, on display in the Naturmuseum Senckenberg, Frankfurt am Main, Germany (photography was permitted in the museum without restriction). This specimen probably is a cast of the specimen SMF-R-4921 which is mentioned and shortly described by Rossmann (2000)[1] as the only specimen in the collections of the Frankfurt Forschungsinstitut Senckenberg that comes from the Uitkyk Farm of the former Calvinia District.
Deutsch: Gipsabdruck eines vollständigen Skelettes von Mesosaurus tenuidens aus der Whitehill-Formation des Karoo-Hauptbeckens, Uitkyk-Farm in der Hantam Local Municipality (vormals Calvinia District), Northern Cape, Südafrika, ausgestellt im Naturmuseum Senckenberg, Frankfurt am Main. Es handelt sich wahrscheinlich um den Abdruck des Exemplars SMF-R-4921, das von Rossmann (2000)[1] erwähnt und kurzbeschrieben wird als einziges Exemplar in der Sammlung des Forschungsinstitutes Senckenberg in Frankfurt, das von der Farm Uitkyk im ehemaligen Calvinia District stammt.
