Title
Mesolithic serrated flint
Description
English: Flint serrated implement of broad Mesolithic/Early Neolithic date (9000 - 3300 BC). The flint is light grey in colour, is opaque and is patinated. It is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. The flint is curved and twists along it's length. The right hand side of the flint has been roughly retouched from the dorsal face to create a saw tooth serrated edge virtually along the entire length. There is also some short, sub-parallel, semi-abrupt retouch to the proximal end of the flint probably enabling the tool to be also used as an end scraper. The flint is 70.3mm long x 16.5mm wide x 9.9mm thick and weighs 12g.
