Title
Mesolithic flint microlith: microburin.
Description
English: A Mesolithic flint microlith which has been further knapped to form a microburin. The artefact is sub-rectangular in plan, which tapers slightly. The terminals are broken edges, therefore the proxmal and distal ends are missing. Along one lateral edge retouch has occurred from the dorsal surface forming a small indentation along the edge. The microlith is sub-trapezoidal in section with the scars occuring on the dorsal surface. The flint has developed a mottled cream patina. The tool measures 23.83mm long, 7.64mm wide, 2.35mm thick and weighs 0.4grams.

The microburin dates to the Mesolithic period (-8300 - -4500).
