Title
Mesolithic Microblade Item 2
Description
English: Two microliths dating to the Mesolithic period (c. 8300-3500 BC).

1 - Roughly leaf-shaped in plan with careful retouch along the dorsal mesial edge. It has fine conchoidal ripples and a bulb of percussion on the ventral face, although it looks like a portion of the bulb was purposefully removed. It is fashioned from similar flint material to the other example in this record and is of a light brown colour and fine glassy texture. It measures 25.4 mm long, 9.6 mm wide, 2.4 mm thick and weighs 0.76 grams.

2 - A broken piece of a microlith blade, with the distal edge broken off. The microlith has a very small bulb of percussion and fine conchoidal ripples, with evidence of very fine retouch to create an almost serrated edge on one mesial edge, knapped from the ventral face. The other mesial edge seems to also have been retouched, but in a much less consistent fashion. The flint material is of a light brown colour and fine glassy texture. It measures 24.3 mm long, 9.5 mm wide, 3.5 mm thick and weighs 0.89 grams.
