Title
Mesolithic Borer
Description
English: Blue-grey flint with cortex, borer. A nodule fragment bearing narrow parallel flake removal scars from unidirectional working which formed a small tapered core. This was reused: the striking platform was trimmed with the removal of wide and narrow scalar flakes to form a point at the edge of its former position. Patches of misty patina over all struck surfaces suggest the object endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment after its final deposition. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC.

Height: 38.3mm, Width: 26.9mm, Thickness: 14.6mm, Weight: 14.83gms.
