Summary
[edit]DescriptionMeruling Temple of Lord Shiva.jpg |
English: Meru in Sanskrit means mountain and ling means lord Shiva. As its name suggests Meruling is a famous Shiva temple on the mountain, located at 30 km from Satara. One can reach here via dhavadasi which is 20km away from Satara and further 1 and ½ to 2 hours walk from there. Another route is through Anewadi by road. There are total three routes to reach this place, all run though sparse jungle. This place is famous for the huge balancing rocks, narrated in the religious Hindu Epic “The Mahabharata”. |
