Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Triple expansion steam engine built for the salvage tug USS I.J. Merritt. The engine was designed by the Moore Plant of the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, Elizabeth, New Jersey, and installed by the W. & A. Fletcher Company, Hoboken, New Jersey, where this photograph was evidently taken. Since the engine does not appear in the Fletcher Company's engine manufacturing records, presumably it was built by the Moore Plant.
