Description

The Galada Tamboore grasslands are of significance for it's remnant fauna and flora and biological diversity. Galada Tamboore is derived from Wurundjeri words for 'creek waterhole'. The area was originally reserved by Melbourne Water as a retarding basin but it now forms part of the new Merri Creek Parklands.

You can discern the Hume Freeway on the horizon. This image was taken near Merri Concourse looking down the creek to the gorge.
