AMG Bodystyling The AMG bodystyling lends the vehicle its unmistakable character, comprising AMG-specific front apron and radiator trim, trim insert in the exterior protective strip, AMG wheels plus AMG flared wheel arches, striking sidepipes and red-painted brake callipers.

"V8 BITURBO" lettering True power lurks within. The elegantly integrated “V8 Biturbo” lettering on the vehicle flanks is a visible sign of the essence at the heart of every AMG.

AMG Radiator Trim The AMG radiator trim impresses with vertical louvres and a central star in high-gloss chrome. As such, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 differs significantly from the entry-level model in that the dynamic character of the vehicle is brought to the fore.

AMG Light-Alloy Wheels Light-alloy wheels in a striking, powerful design. 50.8 cm (20-inch) AMG 10-spoke light-alloy wheelspainted in titanium grey and with a high-sheen finish, with 275/50 R 20 tyres on 9.5 J x 20 ET35 wheels, spare wheel on tailgate with 265/50 R 20 tyre.

AMG High-Performance Braking System Large, internally ventilated and perforated brake disks provide for excellent deceleration. Precise controllability and low response times ensure optimum safety on and off the road. The electric parking brake is integrated into the rear axle calliper and can be activated and released at the press of a button. To also clearly underscore the performance of the brake system to visual effect, the brake callipers at the front and rear are painted in red with black AMG lettering.

AMG Performance Exhaust System, Selectable The AMG Performance exhaust system ensures an even more emotional engine sound in the interior at the push of a button. From typical AMG to restrained, the sound of the AMG Performance exhaust system fully adapts to the currently selected drive program by means of three variably adjustable exhaust gas flaps. The driver can also change the sound characteristics at the press of a button. This equipment allows a maximum spread of the soundscape, from comfortable to highly emotive. Two additional exhaust gas flaps allow for even greater differentiation of the sound characteristics. The sound characteristics are dependent on the currently selected drive program – from rich in drive programs C and S to emphatically sporty in mode S+. Control is by means of a variably adjustable exhaust gas flap – without loss of power. Control of the exhaust gas flaps is dependent on both engine speed and load, guaranteeing a 100% power delivery. If desired, the cold start noise can be reduced in drive programs C and S.

Luxurious interior. In the Mercedes-AMG G 63, all passengers can enjoy more space. Newly designed seats in the finest nappa leather with rhombus-shaped quilting and "AMG" badge don't just offer luxury, but also a certain sense of security.

Improved performance. Diverse on-road and off-road drive programs, the AMG Driver's Package and the selectable AMG Performance exhaust system make every journey a real pleasure. The newly developed AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension and the speed-sensitive sports power steering bring dynamism and comfort in the Mercedes-AMG G 63 to a whole new level.

The earth moves, the pulse races: with the 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine delivering 430 kW (585 hp), the Mercedes-AMG G 63 makes every journey feel like a motorised primal scream.

AMG 4.0-litre V8 Biturbo Engine The 4.0-litre V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG boasts explosive power delivery combined with very finely controllable power output. The twin-scroll turbochargers are positioned between the cylinder heads ("hot inside V") for better response. Cylinder shut-off under partial load ensures even greater efficiency.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9-Speed Sports Transmission With 9 gears and double-declutching function, this transmission allows extremely dynamic acceleration and ultra-short shift times as well as a fuel-saving driving style. The systematic further development of hardware and software has made it possible to further optimise the reaction times. This means that the driver's shift commands can be carried out faster than ever before. Gear changes are performed with no interruption in tractive power. Ultra-fast, responsive multiple downshifts are another forte of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 9G-TRONIC. The driver can change via kickdown directly from 9th into 6th or from 5th into 2nd gear, for example.

AGILITY CONTROL Suspension This suspension with selective passive damping system ensures balanced ride comfort by optimising ride characteristics, damping effect and stabilisation according to the road surface conditions. In the case of small bumps, the frequency selective damping function is reduced and therefore improves road roar and tyre vibration characteristics and sensitivity. In the case of larger bumps on poor road surfaces, the full effect of the passive damping is available and the vehicle is stabilised more strongly.

ECO start/stop function Automatically switching off the engine when stationary, for example in tailbacks or at traffic lights, lowers fuel consumption and emissions and saves fuel costs. The ECO start/stop function is perfectly integrated into the drive system and responds particularly rapidly. This makes for longer engine standstill phases, and therefore even more savings. Other advantages include the low noise level and comfortable starting characteristics. Off-road In off-road terrain the G-Class remains an unrivalled legend. It masters the key off-road disciplines effortlessly and with impressive results, e.g. slope climbing ability, ground clearance, wading depth, angle of approach/departure and lateral slopes. Traction at just one wheel is sufficient to drive the vehicle forward. This is ensured by the interaction between all-wheel drive, differential locks, a ladder-type frame plus engageable low-range gearbox. The harmonious tuning of the suspension and damping additionally delivers optimum ride comfort in even the most demanding of driving conditions.

ECO start/stop function With its adjustable, electronically controlled damping system, this steel chassis provides both sporty driving dynamics as well as brand-typical comfort on long journeys. The AMG-specific kinematics and elastokinematics with newly developed components result in very high stability during dynamic cornering and increase the sense of safety at the critical limits. With DYNAMIC SELECT, at the touch of a button the driver is able to adjust the suspension to the three settings of "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport+" – from highly comfortable to sporty and firm, for example for fast cornering. The damping system is continuously in operation. This improves handling safety and road roar and tyre vibration characteristics. The damping is controlled individually for each wheel and is dependent on the driving style, the road surface condition and the selected suspension setting.
