Description Mercado Central de Ribeirão Preto, o popular Mercadão. Inaugurado em 1900, o local já sofreu com grandes catástrofes como enchentes e o incêndio que destruiu o antigo prédio em 1942. O atual Mercadão foi projetado pelo engenheiro Jaime Zeiger e foi reaberto em 1958. O novo prédio do Mercadão tem 152 boxes distribuídos em mais de 4 mil metros quadrados. O popular Mercadão está localizado entre as ruas São Sebastião, José Bonifácio, Américo Brasiliense e avenida Jerônimo Gonçalves.
