English: Nicki Johnson, widow of Marine Sgt. Trevor J. Johnson, shows photos of her late husband from her mobile phone at the unveiling of the Honoring Our Fallen Memorial Wall May 30 in Long Beach, Calif. “People hear about service members that pass away, but seeing a picture of them [the service member] makes it more real, more personal,” Johnson said. Johnson’s husband, a combat engineer, was killed by an improvised explosive device in Helmand province, Afghanistan during his third deployment in 2009.
