Description
English: Memorial bench on the Blue Rock Trail, Forest of Dean in England.
  • Facing the canalized Cinderford brook and with its back to a hillside of Beech trees — there is this memorial bench remembering a favourite spot. *The photo is taken looking South at the site of the junction to the old Shakemantle Quarry siding. In the left foreground can be seen the remains of a boundary post which, along with the other fence posts along the left hand side of the trail are made from old railway ties.
  • In the siding, out of picture to the left, the wooden remnants of the track can still be seen along with the original iron bolts that held the steel 'chairs' to the wooden sleepers.
