It was unveiled in 2014 and commemorates Dr Crummy's work as a writer and community arts pioneer, and she was a Founder Member of the Craigmillar Festival Society. The artist was Tim Clark. 'Let the people sing', the motif on the door lintel, is the title of one of her books and symbolic of her involvement in the local community through artistic activity.
