Inscription (in Danish): SOPHIE BRAHE TYCHO BRAHES LÆRDE SØSTER HAVDE FORDUM HER SIN GAARD HVOR HUN LEVEDE I SIN ALDERDOM OG DØDE I SIT 83 AAR ANNO 1643 Translation: SOPHIE BRAHE TYCHO BRAHE'S LEARNED SISTER HAD IN OLDEN DAYS HER FARM HERE WHERE SHE LIVED IN HER OLD AGE AND DIED IN HER 83RD YEAR ANNO 1643 Memorial plaque below HOUSE OF THE YEAR 1991: Tycho Brahe's sister Sofie Brahe lived on this site until her death in 1643. The building was erected for the Øresund Association. Burned down in 1860 and rebuilt as a brewery and malt house for brewer Carl Wiibroe. The building was extended to the east and fitted with a ridge gable in 1879-80 according to drawings by architect N.P.C. Holsøe. Holsøe. Converted into an office building 1989-1990. Byggningen blev forlænget mod øst og forsynet med kamtakgavl i 1879–80 efter tegninger af arkitekt N.P.C. Holsøe. Ombygget til kontorbygning 1989–1990. Kåret som årets hus af Helsingær Cityforening 1991. |
