Memorial Day dinner in Guerneville, California

English: We spent an wonderful summer afternoon on the Russian River, to celebrate Memorial Day at BJ and Chris Martin’s lovely home, right by the water in Guerneville. Besides our gracious hosts, our small group included our friends Joe Dea, Alison Quoyeser, Gerald Kawamoto, Sylvia Kwan, Denis Henmi, as well as my dear Phyllis Florin.
The weather was perfect and we all got a chance to swim, kayak, paddle and sing together in this enchanted spot, watching a colorful parade of boats, canoes and inner tubes float down the river in front of us. Later in the day, we played party games and enjoyed an amazing potluck dinner! This was our first real party in over a year, and it felt great to spend a carefree afternoon in such great company. Thank you, BJ and Chris, for bringing us all together for this fun post-pandemic holiday! |
