English: This image of members of the Leschi Heights Improvement Club was taken about the time of its founding in June 1908. The women's social club was organized by Mrs. Joseph Lansing (Sarah Elenor Cochran) Middlebrook (1845-1927), who named the Leschi Heights district and was devoted to the neighborhood's upbuilding as a community. Handwritten on verso: This belongs to Leschi Heights Improvement Club; Mrs. J. L.
