Summary
[edit]DescriptionMelting snow in the Memorial Park - geograph.org.uk - 1157509.jpg |
English: Melting snow in the Memorial Park Melting snow has pooled at the bottom of the field and is draining from right to left across the path from the car park. There is a ditch between the pool and the car park, but the slope tends more towards the golf course. Eight of the first ten days of February have had falling snow, with intervening thaws, with the result that the ground is sodden.
The Memorial Park was opened in 1921 as a tribute to the fallen of the first world war, with many of the trees having dedications to individuals who fell in that and subsequent conflicts. |
