Description
English: Azemmour, qui veut dire l'olive en amazigh, est sans doute établie sur l'antique cité d'Azama, occupée par les Phéniciens avant de tomber sous les mains des Carthaginois et des Romains. Sous ces derniers, Azemmour connut une période de prospérité. Le roi Juba II de Maurétanie favorisa à Azemmour la pêche à l'alose, poisson qui venait frayer dans l'Oum Errabiaa.
