Description

Ольга, княгиня киевская, на приеме у Константина VII Багрянородного. Фреска Софийского собора в Киеве . 1040-е — начало 1050-х гг. Фрагменты

На верхней площадке лестницы северо-западной башни сохранилось два фрагмента большой композиции, посвященной состоявшейся 9 сентября 975 года торжественной встрече княгини Ольги византийским императором в Магнаврском тронном зале.

Фреска в удручающе плохом состоянии, и что-либо рассмотреть на полутемной лестнице чрезвычайно трудно. С.А. Высотский, исследователь светских фресок Софии Киевской, взял на себя нелегкий научный труд провести реконструкцию изображения.
