Description
English: As part of their social outreach programme, Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA), Ezhimala representing Indian Naval Academy (INA), INS Zamorin and INHS (Indian Naval Hospital Ship) Navjivani rendered community services at the Health Oriented Project Establishment (HOPE), Pilathara, Kerala on Monday, 12 June 2017 as part of its community outreach activities. A free multi-speciality medical camp by doctors of INHS Navjivani was also organised as part of the community outreach program. Specialist doctors were available for consultation and treatment. Medicines were distributed to the inmates free of cost during the medical camp.

The volunteers from NWWA, Ezhimala presented provisions, grocery, eatables, nutrient diets and hygiene items to the inmates of HOPE, Pilathara as a goodwill gesture and reiterate the abiding interest of the Indian Naval Academy for the community in its neighbourhood. These activities are intended to reaffirm the commitment of Indian Naval Academy and associated Naval Units at Ezhimala to social causes.

HOPE is a voluntary non-profitable establishment committed to ensure equal right and a quality life for people with disabilities, illness and old age particularly those who are poor and marginalized and living in rural areas. The HOPE foundation presently houses desolate inmates within the age group of 5 to 97 and presently has 150 inmates.
