Title
Medieval to post-medieval token or weight
Description
English: A lead unifaced token or weight from the late medieval to post medieval period (A.D. 1400 - 1800). It is broadly circular in shape with a raised rim. The obverse depicts a cockerel pecking at a flower, with a raised central pellet and a border of radiating grooves. The reverse is blank and also has slightly raised rims. It has a diameter of 35.7mm, thickness of 4.7mm, and a weight of 20g.

The token or weight is grey to brown in colour with an uneven patina. Abrasion caused by movement whilst within the plough soil has resulted in the loss of some of the original surface detail.
