Description |
English: A fragment of a cast copper-alloy leg from a medieval to post-medieval skillet (cooking vessel). The leg is sub-rectangular in plan and lozenge shaped in section, with a slight ridge running down the centre on the front. The bottom of the leg is is splayed into a foot to support the leg.The leg measures 32.34 mm long, 28.58 mm wide, 15.79 mm thick and weighs 43.7 grams. It is heavily abraded and suffers from some corrosion. It has an uneven mid-green colour with a black coating where the surface metal survives. Much of the surface patina is missing. |
