Medieval to post-Medieval double-oval buckle
Description
English: A copper-alloy double-oval buckle of Late Medieval to early post-Medieval date.

The symmetrical frame has two 'D-shaped' sides, the upper surfaces sloping downwards and outwards, the width expanding towards the centre of each side, where there is a transverse groove pin rest. The central axis bar is of circular section and has a protruding knop at each end. The pin, looped around the axis bar, has flat surfaces and tapers to a point. The buckle measures 23mm long, 17.9mm wide and 3.9mm thick. The weight is 3.02g.
