Title
Medieval to Post-Medieval spectacle buckle
Description
English: Cast copper-alloy spectacle buckle. Medieval to Early Post-Medieval in date. Plain with no decoration. This example is fairly crudely finished. Strap bar is in tact and slightly recessed from the edge of the frame. Due to their continued use and abundance from the mid 14th to late 17th centuries these buckles can be hard to date out of context (Whitehead 2003 page 52).
