Title
Medieval stud
Description
English: A gilded, copper alloy stud dating to the medieval period (c. AD 1150-1400). The stud is almost square with the remains of a central, integrally cast fixing pin on the back. The obverse still has most of its original gilding, with raised decoration consisting of a series of vertical and diagonal lines. Owing to the degree of wear, it is not possible to further identify the design.

Length 10.1mm, width 9.6mm, thickness 1.8mm, weight 0.92g. Cf. LANCUM-2FADAF, which is earlier in date but bears similar gilded decoration.
