Medieval spindle whorl
Description
English: A complete, biconical lead spindle whorl dating to the post-medieval period (c. AD 1500-1600). The spindle whorl is worn, but is visibly decorated with straight, radial lines that appear evenly spaced in a cross-hatching pattern. Irregularly-placed pellets can be seen in the segments. The perforation is 9.30mm in diameter. The spindle whorl is characteristic of Walton-Rogers type C2. 

Diameter: 31.11mm, thickness: 19.66mm, weight: 69.33g. Cf. <a href="https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/979263">NLM-55FBE5</a>.
