Title
Medieval single loop buckle with plate
Description
English: A cast gilded copper-alloy single-looped buckle frame and plate of medieval date. The artefact is an irregular D-shape . The strap bar is completely covered by the plate which holds it in place. The pin is completely intact . The upper and lower surfaces appear undecorated.

The buckle plate is formed from a single piece of metal bent over the strap bar and back on itself. A slot has been cut in it to let the pin fit through. There are five rivets through the plate, which pierces both ends of the bent piece of metal. The plate is undecorated.

The buckle is 39.8mm in length, 10.15mm wide, 3.3mm thick and weighs 4.85 grams.
