Title
Medieval single loop buckle with plate
Description
English: A corroded incomplete cast copper-alloy single-looped buckle frame and plate of medieval date. The artefact is an irregular D-shape with prominent protruding outer edge such that it tends towards the sub-triangular. The strap bar is narrowed and off-set and is missing its pin. Its terminals are expanded but divided from the sides by grooves on the upper surface. The protrusion forms the pin rest and features a shallow central pin groove along half of its width. It terminates with in a rounded curve. The upper and lower surfaces appear undecorated.

The buckle plate is attached through two strips and a short plate to the reverse. The outer face has two rivet holes at either corner. The plate is decorated with punched geometric design on the front face. The edge of the back plate is damaged and missing.
