Medieval single loop buckle with plate
Description
English: Medieval cast copper alloy buckle and plate, 1350-1450. Single loop buckle with lipped frame, notched to take the now missing pin. Folded sheet plate, pierced to take the pin, wider on the front than the back, single copper alloy rivet at the end. Iron staning around the piercing in the plate suggests that the pin was iron. Length including plate 29.0mm, length of frame 16.0mm, width of frame 19.4mm, width of plate 8.1mm (on reverse) & 10.8mm (on obverse), thickness of frame 2.6mm, thickness across end of plate 4.4mm, weight 2.32g.
