Description |
English: Medieval cast copper alloy single loop buckle with integral forked spacers, c.1350-1450. Incomplete, one of the spacers is broken, the pin is missing, and the plates are missing. Circular lipped frame with bevelled outer edge, transverse ridge (width c.3mm) on the spacers (on both surfaces) just behind the pin bar, tapering rectangular spacers, one bent and broken about halfway along. Length 47mm, width across frame 17.6mm, thickness max (across ridge behind frame) 4.2mm, thickness across frame 2.9mm, weight 4.77g.
