Medieval single loop buckle
Description
English: A corroded cast copper-alloy single-looped buckle of medieval date. The artefact is D-shaped in plan. The strap bar is narrowed and off-set. Its terminals are expanded but divided from the sides by grooves on the upper surface. The protrusion forms the pin rest and features a shallow central pin groove along its width. The upper surface is decorated with horizontal incisions. The lower surface of the artefact is flat and plain. The pin is corroded to the pin bar on the reverse of the bucle, the pin has a concave reverse.

The buckle is 27.95mm in length, 19.65mm wide, 4.85mm thick and weighs 4.0 grams.
