Title |
Medieval single loop buckle |
||
Description |
English: A cast copper-alloy single-looped medieval buckle frame. The frame is oval, with an expanded, rounded outer edge (Th.: 3.55mm). There is a notch at the centre of the outer edge which would have acted as a pin rest; it is flanked by three engraved lines on either side. Around a third of the pin survives, looped around the offset pin bar. The surface of the buckle is worn while the reverse of the buckle is seemingly flat. |
