||
Description |
English: Medieval Rectangular or trapezoidal gilt buckle plate with pin slot, frame recesses, four rivets, central repoussé boss and engraved line along sides, attachment edge and running up to pin slot. This line survives as upstanding gilding, the remainder of the surface having been lowered through decay. Round section bar of the frame retained in fold. Length 44mm, width 20mm (18mm at attachment edge). The back part is of the same width, but it survives for only 12mm from the fold. 13th – 14th century. |
