Title
Medieval plate from a single loop buckle.
Description
English: Incomplete cast Medieval copper-alloy plate from probably a single loop buckle; circa 1250-1400 AD date. (For similar example, see R. Whitehead, 1996, Buckles 1250-1800, p. 23, No. 105.) The remaining part of the plate has three rivet holes – two close to where the axis bar would have attached to the plate, and one further back, on the central line. Otherwise the plate is undecorated. The object measures 32mm long, 19.1mm wide and 0.5mm thick. It weighs 2.96g.
