Description |
English: Cast copper alloy double-loop, oval spectacle buckle frame with bevelled internal edge. The pin bar is recessed, with moulded knops at either end, narrowed and 2.5 mm in thickness. The frame has a hollowed out base and a convex profile in cross-section.
Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar example on page 54, Plate No.305, which is dated from 1500 to 1650. Read (1988) illustrates a similar example on page 110, No.668, which is dated from 1485 to 1600. |
