Title
Medieval lead pendant
Description
English: A complete lead pendant of probable medieval date, c.AD 1300-1600.

The pendant is circular in plan and flat, with a small D-shaped suspension loop. The top part of the pendant (including suspension loop) was folded over when the object was found, but has now been straightened leaving a diagonal crease.

The front face is decorated with a raised central pellet surrounded by a larger circle divided into a saltire with a single smaller pellet in each quadrant. Surrounding this circular motif is a decorative border of raised radiating lines creating a six-pointed star or sun, with a pellet in each point and each space. The reverse face of the pendant is undecorated.

The object may have functioned as a pendant or weight. D: 36.7mm, T: 2.2mm, W: 12.67g.
