Description |
English: Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 18mm thick and 30mm in diameter with a weight of 49.43grams. The whorl is circular in form with a central hole, 11mm in diamter, and bi-conical in cross section with wide sloping sides. The surface has no obvious or very worn decoration, but it has a pronounced central ridge.
The whorl fits Walton Rogers form C which she dates to 1100 onwards. |
