Description
English: A copper-alloy harness pendant suspension mount of Medieval date.

The upper portion of the mount is semi-circular in plan and has a convex upper surface. Protruding downwards from the base are two perforated loops, set at a right angle to the mount, and containing the iron axis bar. Extending from the bask of the mount is an integral rivet of circular section, which has had the point flattened. The mount measures 10.4mm high, 5.9mm wide and 10.2mm deep (including the rivet). The weight is 0.97g.

Several similar mounts from Norfolk are illustrated by Ashley (2002: fig. 10, no. 38; fig. 12, nos. 84 and 85; fig. 13, nos. 95 and 97), all of which have attached shield-shaped harness pendants of approximately 14th century date.
