Medieval harness pendant
Description
English: A copper-alloy horse harness pendant of Medieval date.

The shield-shaped pendant bears the following arms: (Azure) three lions rampant Or a label Gules. Only traces of the blue enamel remain and the pendant is heavily corroded. The hanger is set at a right-angle to the top side, located centrally, the top side worn through. The pendant measures 39.8mm high, 23.6mm wide, 2.4mm thick and weighs 9g.

The arms portrayed on this pendant have been attributed to Giles de Fiennes, who was born c. 1250 in Wendover, Buckinghamshire and died in 1293.
