Medieval fragment of tinned buckle
Description
English: Fragment of Medieval tinned or silvered buckle, hollow trapezoidal plate and stumps of lyre-shaped frame with part of foliate lobe. Width at attachment edge, 24mm. Pierced at mouth by two copper alloy rivets. Broken perforation for missing pin. Plate decorated with inscribed black-letter i on a rocker-arm field. Similar form to strap-end illustrated in Fingerlin 1971, no.286. Late 14th/early 15th century.
