English: Medieval copper alloy fragment of ?lyre-shaped strap-end, only the trapezoidal socket (pierced by two copper alloy rivets and containing fragment of cloth strap) and stumps of elaborate openwork anthropomorphic terminal. The face is decorated with engraved foil on a rocker-arm field. Width at attachment edge 25mm. Cf. Fingerlin nos.274-5. Late 14th/early 15th century. |
