Title
Medieval ewer
Description
English: Incomplete medieval copper alloy animal-head spout, probably from a ewer, tubular broken straight neck, broken at the lower edge of the open mouth of the cast head with blunt snout, and obliquely set eyes and ears, largely obscured by concreted dark material, possibly burnt sandy clay and corrosion. Surviving length 47mm. Width 19.5mm. Weight 38.32g. This spout is probably from a ewer, although unusually straight, for the more usual types see EAA Occasional Paper 12, 12-13, fig.21, no.3 and Finds Research Group Datasheet 7, fig.8 A. 15th century.
