Title |
medieval copper alloy barrel padlock |
||
Description |
English: Medieval barrel lock, 35mm long, 21mm wide and 11mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 9.60grams. The object consists of a hexagonal 'tube' which is decorated on its outside with an incised border at both ends and a double arch motif made up of punch marks filling each face. At one end it has a rectangular protrusion placed at right angles (tab) this holds the bar, a circular sectioned tapering shaft aligned parallel with the main body. The edges are incomplete and the object is missing part of its mechanism that would have completed the lock. |
