Title
Medieval copper-alloy ewer or cauldron foot
Description
English: A cast copper-alloy foot from a tripod medieval ewer or cauldron. The foot has a flat base with the beginning of a leg coming up from it at an angle of around 120 degrees. A ridge runs down the foot making sub-triangular in section. The foot appears to have three toes. A similar example is illustrated in Egan 'The Medieval Household' (1998, 164; 460) which is dated to between 1400 and 1450 and this example will be of a similar date.
