Title
Medieval copper-alloy D-shaped buckle
Description
English: A medieval copper-alloy D-shaped buckle. The frame is upwardly angled and has a triangular notch for the pin. Each side of the frame is formed by an elongated beast or snake. The bodies are decorated with incised hatches and a moulding denotes what might be the neck or ears. Both heads are visible in two dimensions when viewed from the side, and in three dimensions when viewed from above. Each head has lozenge shaped eyes and an upward turned snout. The pin bar is narrowed and offset.
